You know, I presume this might even be intended, even if it was
probably better coded as

                while (ifHeight >= minIFHeight &&
                       ifHeight / bdsSF >= minBDSHeight) {

                        ....
                        ifHeight -= IF_ALIGN_H;
                }

                while (ifHeight >= minIFHeight && ifHeight <= iif.height &&
                       ifHeight / bdsSF >= minBDSHeight) {

                        ....
                        ifHeight += IF_ALIGN_H;

                }
        }
